Jerry Lorenzo's Fear of God and adidas embarked on a groundbreaking journey with the Fear of God Athletics line, initially announced in 2020. It took about three years for the line to come to fruition, with December 2023 hosting the debut capsule featuring footwear and apparel. Following this debut, an all-white Fear of God Athletics 1 sneaker was released on Christmas Day, and recently, we were given looks at an Indiana University-themed colorway. Building on this momentum, the partnership is set to release the adidas Fear of God Athletics 1 in Clay.
The adidas Fear of God Athletics 1 Clay features a monochromatic Clay color that envelops the upper, offering a sleek and versatile look. Constructed with an engineered mesh base and complemented by no-sew TPU overlays, the silhouette ensures a comfortable and secure fit. Along the midfoot sits a Three Stripes TPU cage, drawing inspiration from the iconic adidas Predator soccer cleats, which adds a touch of sporty elegance and heritage to the design.
Fear of God branding is subtly integrated along the heel via a black bar, maintaining the sneaker's minimalist aesthetic. The shoe is also equipped with thick rope laces and a redesigned Three Stripes logo on the lace lock, enhancing its unique identity. A black bungee cord provides additional lockdown support, ensuring optimal performance. Completing the design is a cream midsole outfitted with the Lightstrike Pro cushioning system, offering solid comfort paired with a tonal outsole for a cohesive finish.
The adidas Fear of God Athletics 1 Clay will release March 3, 2024, through adidas, Fear of God, and for the first time, select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $250. For the latest updates on this release, as well as other sneaker news and raffles, be sure to download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
