One of the most trendy kicks at the moment seems to be laceless slip-on silhouettes, in part due to the popularity of the Yeezy Foam RNNR, Slide, and Salehe Bembury’s take on the Croc. Now that everyone from Louis Vuitton, Nike, New Balance, and more have their own foam sneaker, it seems adidas wants to combine semi-traditional materials with a 3D printed foam midsole on the latest adidas sample to appear.
Coming with an internal neoprene bootie and a clog-like appearance on the outside, a combo of mesh and neoprene make up the outer layer. Though a bit of tan suede appears down on the toebox, the rest of the upper is dressed in a cream-shaded neoprene. Atop the padded “tongue” is a 3D Trefoil logo in volt green, located near a burgundy sockliner. The Three Stripes branding makes an appearance in cream along the midfoot, sitting atop a tan sandwich mesh oval-shaped cutout. As for the internals, these early images don't provide too much detail, though, it does appear there is a sock-like internal bootie that borrows from the burgundy red sockliner. Down on the midsole is where things get interesting, with the foam used to construct it alongside the cushioning system and the outsole appearing very similar to the technique of 3D printing utilized on the adidas Adilette 22 with its topographical wavy appearance.
With early images just arriving, not much is known about this adidas sample, though the coming months should provide us with more information. For updates on everything within the sneaker and streetwear space, keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app.
