adidas Spezial, the highly revered line by Gary Aspden that delves deep into the brand's rich archive to reimagine classic aesthetics for the contemporary scene, celebrates a monumental decade of existence in 2024. Since its inception in 2014, Spezial has meticulously curated collections that resonate with adidas’ deep-rooted design ethos while innovatively pushing the boundaries. The Pre-Spring 2024 collection is a testament to Spezial's dedication to blending the past, present, and future of adidas, showcasing a series of footwear that pays homage to the brand's enduring legacy.

This celebratory collection introduces seven distinct silhouettes, each embodying the essence of adidas' heritage with a modern twist. Leading the charge is the Gazelle SPZL from the Fall Winter 2023 lineup, making a comeback in two new versions: a sleek all-black suede variation echoing the Pulsebeat SPZL and a striking chalk white denim model with understated white Three Stripes.

The collection is further enriched with three additions. The Whitworth SPZL, drawing inspiration from adidas' 80s running shoes and the vintage clipper, combines suede, nylon, and mesh with reflective details, embodying a retro aesthetic. The Handball Pro SPZL reimagines a rare adidas handball shoe atop a rubber gum cupsole, presented in a classic indoor sport blue. The Moston Super SPZL, taking cues from the mid-70s adidas Artic, features a green suede upper with vibrant stripes, showcasing the line's knack for reviving nostalgic designs with a fresh perspective.

Completing the lineup are two revered classics: the Wensley SPZL, first introduced in 2017, returns in a new light brown colorway with updated features, including a revised padded tongue, and the Adilette SPZL, which blends the iconic slip-on design with Spezial's distinctive flair. This collection is a fitting homage to Spezial's decade-long journey, offering something for long-time fans and newcomers.

The adidas SPZL Pre-Spring 2024 Collection will release on April 4, 2024, through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the prices range between $50 and $140.
