Aime Leon Dore, the brainchild of Teddy Santis, has been a transformative force in the world of sneaker collaborations, particularly with New Balance. Over recent years, ALD has played a pivotal role in reviving classic silhouettes, as seen with the 550, 650, 1000, and soon with the 475. This fruitful partnership reached new heights when Santis took on the role of creative director for New Balance's Made in USA line. Merging both roles, we've seen quite a few Aime Leon Dore collaborations on Made in USA models, most recently with the 990v4 in Navy. Another colorway of an ALD x New Balance 990v4 has emerged in True Camo. Dropping alongside this pair will be the Red Clay colorway
The Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 990v4 True Camo features a premium pigskin suede upper adorned with a green hue. This shade extends across the mudguard, eyestays, midfoot, and heel, complemented by a tonal green mesh base that adds depth and texture. The toebox overlays are dressed in a soft cream hue, which is also found lining the midfoot overlays, providing a subtle contrast to the green shades.
The iconic New Balance N logo appears in a combination of silver and white, adding a touch of classic style to the shoe. As for ALD, the label’s branding is reversed for the insole with text that reads Exclusively for Aime Leon Dore. The sneaker has a white and grey foam midsole for comfort and a black rubber outsole for durability and traction.
The Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 990v4 True Camo will release August 23, 2024, exclusively via Aime Leon Dore online. Available in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $220.
