Teddy Santis and New Balance's collaborative endeavors have revolutionized the sneaker market, especially with the revival of archival designs like the New Balance 550 and, shortly after, the 650R. Their partnership, under Santis' Aime Leon Dore (ALD) imprint, has breathed new life into these classic models. Even as Teddy Santis pioneers the Made in USA line for New Balance, his brand remains committed to its periodic team-ups with the sneaker giant. Their latest endeavor revisits the celebrated 550 and 650R models, unveiling two captivating colorways for each.
Both the 650R and 550 models exhibit the luxury of leather uppers, complemented by mesh detailing on the "N" logo, tongue, and collar. The 550s stand out with their vintage leather finish and accent stitching that matches the mesh portions. One variant displays a striking interplay of navy and gold, while its counterpart emphasizes a monochromatic green on its mesh components. Transitioning to the 650R, it mirrors a similar color scheme but is accentuated by pristine white leather. An unmistakable touch of the ALD brand is evident with its apple emblem featured on the tongue tag and the left shoe of each pair. The design is seamlessly tied together with a sail midsole and a tonal rubber outsole.
The latest pack of Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 550s and 650Rs will be available via a draw on Aime Leon Dore’s website beginning on October 23, 2023, at 11 AM EST. The draw will conclude on October 25, 2023 at 11:59 PM EST and ship in the coming weeks. A global launch is set for November 15 via New Balance. The 550s are priced at $130, while the 650R comes in at $165. Keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app for all the current updates on releases, raffles, and news.
