The Air Jordan 1 has been a sneaker staple for 38 years, and over the past four decades, Michael Jordan's flagship shoe has remained pretty much unchanged. With that said, this Summer the Jumpman brand will be bringing back the iconic EX series to give the silhouette a modern makeover. World-renowned for its deconstructed detailing, the last time this line appeared was all the way back in May of last year with the "Black Dark Smoke Grey," so you can kind of imagine how hyped we are for the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG EX "Sail."
Unlike conventional Jordan 1s, this reworked rendition drops the classic all-leather construction in favor of ballistic nylon that takes over the entire upper. Working on top of a crisp sail base, atmosphere grey panels wraps around the rest of the sneaker complete with exposed foam edges which offer an avant-garde aesthetic. The usual perforations around the toe area have been replaced with a series of dimples which for a sleek and seamless design, and all of this is contrasted by a slick black Swoosh that shoots through the laterals and medials, joining up around the heel badge where the mythical winged basketball insignia is finely stitched. Shifting your focus down below, the clean Nike Air midsole makes a cameo here, rounding off the design.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG EX Sail is set to release on May 25, 2023.
