Even if many look to Jordan Brand for the latest retro Js, the brand still produces cutting-edge performance basketball models. Not only do we see new series launching like the women’s-focused Jordan Heir, but a continuation of the numerical Air Jordan lineup. After unveiling the latest Air Jordan, the Air Jordan 39, multiple colorways hit shelves over the summer, including the Lumiere, University, and an A Ma Maniere collaboration. Now, official images of the Croix colorway have emerged.
Classic shades often associated with Jordan Brand are present on this pair, as we see a primarily black and white finish with powder blue shades contrasting on select details. Directly translating to "Cross" from French, the Croix colorway sees black leather details land on the toebox and lower eyestays, while perforated leather in the same shade makes up most of the tongue. Dark Powder Blue appears atop the Jumpman logo's tongue, surrounded by more black hues. A white base layer features tonal embroidered details derived from a pattern produced by scanning a painted Air Jordan 29, as the pair was repeatedly subjected to the famous cross-over move done by MJ, creating a cracked paint pattern. Inside, the silhouette comes packed with the latest tech, such as a full-length ZoomX foam and a Zoom Air unit, which create unparalleled comfort on the court. This cushioning setup is housed in a clear white midsole paired with a tonal outsole.
The Air Jordan 39 Croix will release in Holiday 2024 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $200.
