While Tar Heels-themed Air Jordans have been a thing since the beginning, only the past few years have seen Jordan Brand take player exclusive editions and release them at retail with minor changes. We saw it with the Air Jordan 3 and then the Air Jordan 4. Now as a part of the brand’s Spring 2022 Retro Footwear Collection, the Air Jordan 6 Retro is the latest UNC PE-turned-GR. Nicknamed the “University Blue” edition, this pair features Carmine-like color blocking with white leather overlays and university blue nubuck underlays. A semi-translucent tongue with Tar Heels like graphics lay underneath. Other details include a woven jock tag on the back heel, 3M reflective perforations on the upper and black accents.
The Air Jordan 6 Retro University Blue is set to release on March 5th, 2022. It will launch at Nike as well as select Jordan Brand retailers both in-store and online. They will be available in full-family sizing, from men down to toddler. Men’s pairs will retail for $210. Keep it locked to our Twitter and Mobile App to stay up to date on this release as it gets closer.
