Founded in 2014, the Korean fashion label Andersson Bell has been able to merge both Korean and Scandinavian culture into one cohesive lense of design. After having worked with Japanese running-shoe-powerhouse Asics on a set of Gel-1090’s in 2021, the duo are back once again, this time on three ultra-utilitarian reworks of the Asics HN2-S PROTOBLAST.
Though we have yet to receive actual product photos, the images shared on Andersson Bell’s Instagram showcase the three colorways infused into various artwork. The colorways mirror what each photo depicts with mossy greens, greys, and blues appearing on the shark-like boat, while a silver, grey, and black makeup takes on the form of a car. The final colorway is painted to appear like an ancient artifact being unearthed, coming in a sandy beige, snakeskin greens, and earth-tone browns. For its utilitarian upgrade, Andersson Bell throws an extra set of over-laces on top of the silhouette, weaving through hiking hooks all throughout. Underfoot, the three pairs will all feature the cushioning system of the Asics NOVABLAST 2 and a midsole/outsole combo that takes inspiration from the GELHOOP 6.
All three colorways of the Andersson Bell x Asics HN2-S PROTOBLAST are set to release on May 27th, 2022 through Asics, Andersson Bell, and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced. To stay updated on the latest from Asics and more, keep it locked to our Twitter andMobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
