Founded in 2011, Hideaki Shikama and his label Children of the discordance have continued to bring the 90s and early aughts fashion and music inspiration to their upcycled archival vintage pieces. During his latest show at Paris Fashion Week, the Japanese-born designer was able to bring his design ethos to one of streetwear’s emerging stars, Salomon, on the upcoming Children of the discordance x Salomon XT-6.
The 2010’s runner gets an elegant makeover through the floral pattern across the TPU and mesh upper, taking on a mix of light and dark tones. Down on the toe, a white semi-translucent TPU film wraps around towards heel, lined with deep matte whites throughout. For the quicklace system, white eyestay loops house a set of black bungee cords, sitting just above the black mesh tongue and a Children of the discordance tag. Back towards the heel, Salomon Lab branding comes in white. Underfoot, the white and black EnergyCell midsole comes with an orange accent above, finished off by a black rubber outsole below.
The Children of the discordance x Salomon XT-6 is set to release in 2022 through Salomon, Children of the discordance, and select retailers online and in-store. As of now, the sizing and retail price are TBA. To stay updated on the latest in sneakers, streetwear, and more, keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app.
