Di’Orr Greenwood, a Native American artist and skateboarder from the Navajo Nation, has seamlessly blended her passion for art and skateboarding into a burgeoning career with Nike SB. Following looks at her Nike SB Dunk High collaboration, Greenwood's artistic vision graces the Nike SB Zoom Blazer Mid.
The sneaker is a masterpiece of subtlety and depth, constructed with a nubuck upper that drapes the silhouette in shades of anthracite and dark smoke grey. This muted palette serves as the perfect backdrop for the floral patch on the vamp, sitting on the base of a large shroud adorned with intricate stitching details. The grey canvas tongue, bearing Nike SB branding, complements the overall aesthetic. At the same time, the vulcanized rubber midsole is ingeniously designed with mountain-like profiles, nodding to the landscapes that inspire Greenwood's artwork. Her heritage is honored on the heel tab, with the word Diné embroidered on the right heel. Diné is the term the Navajo refer to themselves, meaning The People.
The Di’Orr Greenwood x Nike SB Zoom Blazer Mid will release on June 4, 2024, through Nike SB retailers and Nike SNKRS. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $110.
