In an exciting turn of events for sportswear enthusiasts and Disney fans alike, the entertainment giant has ventured into a new collaboration, joining forces with Nike to create an exclusive apparel capsule. This partnership marks a significant shift in Disney's collaborative strategy, as the company has previously maintained a long-standing contract with adidas, producing numerous footwear designs. Besides adidas, Disney has collaborated with notable brands like Vans and Crocs. Though this new Nike collection sees the two giants working together for the first time, footwear will likely be separate from the picture for the foreseeable future.
The eleven-piece collection blends functionality and Disney’s charm. It includes six hats, a 3/4 zip hoodie, a Therma-FIT long sleeve, and two polo shirts, all imbued with the iconic Disney touch.
A standout feature of the polo shirts is the classic depiction of Mickey Mouse on the front chest, while Nike's iconic Swoosh is placed on the sleeve. This fusion of Disney's timeless mascot with Nike's sportswear aesthetic symbolizes the blending of two cultural icons. The 3/4 zip hoodie and the Therma-FIT long sleeve further celebrate this union, featuring a silhouette of Mickey's face prominently on the chest.
The collection's hat selection is equally impressive, showcasing different elements of Disney's rich heritage. Four hats pay homage to the beloved Disney parks in the US - Walt Disney World and Disneyland, two coming in baseball cap form and two as visors. Mickey Mouse makes another appearance on two baseball caps, reinforcing the Disney theme throughout the collection. In a nod to Pixar, the final baseball cap features the famous desk lamp and ball from the intro of Pixar films.
This collaboration between Disney and Nike is currently available for purchase on Disney’s website. Prices range between $35 and $130. Keep it locked to the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
