The Fefei Ruan x adidas CNY Collection Releases December 2023

Fefei Ruan, a renowned Chinese artist known for her intricate designs that blend traditional Chinese art with contemporary styles, brings her aesthetic to the world of sneakers through a unique collaboration with adidas. The partnership celebrates the upcoming Chinese New Year, transforming seven classic adidas silhouettes into wearable art pieces. Alongside this pack, adidas is also planning on dropping a D.O.N. Issue #5 Year of the Dragon.

The collection comprises a diverse range of adidas models, including three versions of the Samba (two OGs and one Samba XLG), two iterations of the Superstar (one Superstar 82 and one Superstar XLG), and two renditions of the adidas Country (one OG and one XLG). This extensive lineup ensures a broad appeal, catering to various tastes and preferences. Half of the collection is adorned in crisp white hues, visible on one of the Samba OGs, both the Country OG and XLG, and the Superstar XLG, providing a clean and sophisticated look. The other half of the collection, including the Samba XLG and the other Samba OG, dives into darker tones of black. Standing out amongst the collection is the Superstar 82, which features a particularly vivid color scheme adorned with Fefei Ruan's whimsical artwork.

Each sneaker in this collection comes with redesigned branding elements, particularly noticeable on the tongue. A unique feature in many pairs is a double tongue construction that cleverly conceals pops of color, adding an element of surprise and intricacy to the design. Additional stitching details on the heel further enhance the artistic flair of these sneakers, making each pair more than just footwear but a piece of art. Inside, Fefei Ruan and adidas co-branding is present via an added tag.

The Fefei Ruan x adidas CNY Collection will release on December 27, 2023, via adidas overseas and will be available on adidas online. A global release has not yet been confirmed, and this collection will likely remain exclusive to Asia.
