Over the last 50 years, Foot Locker has been one of the go-to destinations for sneakerheads and the public to get the latest footwear releases. On the heels of the company’s recent Home Court store concept in NYC, and after early previews of collaborations with adidas and Puma, Foot Locker has officially unveiled its plans for its 50th Anniversary celebration. This celebration includes collaborations with the biggest names in the footwear industry, Nike, adidas, New Balance, and Puma, to name a few.
Previously, imagery had emerged of the two pairs crafted by adidas, a Samba and Superstar, and LaMelo Ball’s Puma MB.01, with all three commemorating 50 years of Foot Locker. On top of these products, Foot Locker has teamed up with Nike to craft an Air Force 1 Low and Air Max Plus, Converse on the Weapon Low, and New Balance on the 2002R and 550. All eight sneakers come with black and white color schemes accented by gold and will launch online and in-store on September 9.
The celebration doesn’t stop at sneakers, with various events occurring throughout September in NYC. Details about all the events have not yet been shared, but Foot Locker teased a performance by Coi Leray, in partnership with adidas, for FLX Rewards members.
“As we commemorate this milestone, we’re focused on the future and celebrating our position as the 'Heart of Sneakers,’” said Mary Dillon, President and CEO of Foot Locker, Inc. “Our deep-rooted connection to sneaker culture and the dedication of our Stripers have fueled our success, and we’re gearing up for the next 50 years. Through our Lace Up Plan, we’re driving sustainable growth by reimagining the in-store and omnichannel experience, strengthening our brand partnerships, and deepening customer engagement.”
As mentioned previously, all of the Foot Locker 50th Anniversary sneakers will release on September 9, 2024, via Foot Locker online and in-store. Pricing ranges between the various pairs.
