Hidden Characters, the enigmatic Chicago-based label celebrated for its artisanal approach and clandestine aura, has ventured into collaborative sneakers with an unexpected yet thrilling partnership with Hoka. Known for its commitment to the outdoor and performance sector, Hoka's collaboration with Hidden Characters introduces the fashion-forward community to a blend of high functionality and unique style. As Hidden Characters enter the sneaker world, they bring their distinct narrative-driven design philosophy to the durable and innovative Hoka Tor Summit 2.
The collaboration brings the Hoka Tor Summit 2 in a Snow White colorway, distinguished by its dual-tone design. The shoe’s base features a cream-colored rubberized mudguard, creating a striking contrast against the black tumbled leather that adorns the upper. This combination is further complemented by black nylon across the tongue, seamlessly integrated with the lace set and metallic eyelets, enhancing the shoe's rugged appeal.
The collaborative effort is subtly marked with Hidden Characters' branding on the tongue tag of the left shoe and the insole of the right. In contrast, Hoka's signature is mirrored on the opposite side, signifying a partnership based on mutual respect and shared values. Underfoot sits a white foam midsole with a blue and white Vibram rubber outsole.
The Hidden Characters x Hoka Tor Summit 2 Snow White will release March 23, 2024 through Hidden Characters' in-store raffle in Chicago. A wider release via the brand's website, Hoka, and select retailers both online and in-store will come at a later date. As of this writing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
