A large percentage of the NBA’s star players often get their own signature line with Nike, though the cream of the crop gets the opportunity to work with Jordan Brand. These silhouettes may not generate the same buzz that Michael Jordan provided, but the models convey each athlete's style and personality, often designed to fit their playstyle on the court. While Luka Dončić is of Spanish descent, the stars signature shoe with Jordan Brand, the Jordan Luka 1, is getting a French-inspired makeover inspired by the Quai54 tournament.
Covered in French colors of blue, white, and red, the sneaker utilizes some of Jordan Brand’s newest technological innovations. A knit material dresses the upper in a two-tone blue and white while the edges get wrapped in a white plastic fused overlay, acting as both the eyestays and vamp. Tonal blue laces match the knit upper and mesh tongue, sitting below a tongue tag with a Quai54-inspired graphic as well as the logo of the tournament. Back on the heel, this same graphic continues in a blue and white makeup with white overlays surrounding it.
Internally, the sockliner and insole borrow from each other, coming in the same style pattern as the tongue and heel, though an embroidered co-branded tag between Jordan Brand and Quai54 breaks up the color scheme by coming in red. Underfoot, the midsole is made up of the most sustainable performance foam material made by Nike, titled Formula 23, while the IsoPlate foot frame wraps up the lateral forefoot to help secure your feet in place when going from front to back. Rounding everything out is the icy blue semi-translucent rubber outsole with hits of red peeking through.
The Jordan Luka 1 Quai54 is slated to release on October 24th, 2022 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is $110.
