A 25 year business relationship is nothing to sniff at. So much so that Jordan Brand is celebrating their China partnership, which is one of their biggest markets. To truly show their appreciation, JB is giving some of the sneakers in their catalog a "25 Years in China" look. Two silhouette’s that have already received this appearance are the Air Jordan 1 High Zoom CMFT and the Air Jordan 12 Retro Low. Next up is the Jordan Zion 2.
When Jordan Brand signed Zion Williamson in 2019 it was a no brainer. One of the most explosive players to ever play at the collegiate level, barring any setbacks, everyone knew Zion was destined for greatness in the NBA. Fast forward to 2022, and he’s definitely shown glimpses of what he is capable of but unfortunately has been bit by the injury bug. With the NBA season kicking off in a couple months and Zion returning from completely missing the previous season, the time for Williamson and the Jordan Zion 2 is now.
While this particular Jordan Zion 2 is pretty basic in terms of the colorway, some of the details give this sneaker enough pop to still garner some attention. The black portions of the sneaker that are patent leather are holographic, with Zion's logo spelled out on the tongue tag in silver. On the back heels, one Jumpman 25 branding, and the other, the Next Stop Dongdan Streetball Tournament logo. All this sits atop a black sole, housed in special packaging.
The Jordan Zion 2 Greater China is set to release in 2022. It will drop at Nike, via the SNKRS app, and select retailers worldwide, online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, retail is TBA.
