While exploring the shelves of CoolKicks, Lil Boat came across Travis Scott's recent Utopia Air Force 1. While examining the sneaker Yachty casually said, "Yea I just did a Force." When CoolKicks' owner, Adeel Shams, asked Yachty if he had a deal with Nike too, Yachty shrugged it off saying "I don't know what's going on." He went on to say that he has been trying to get a sneaker for 7 years.
The brief and somewhat ambiguous admission spurred a flurry of questions and speculations among fans and sneaker enthusiasts: Is Lil Yachty hinting at an upcoming collaboration with Nike, specifically revolving around the iconic Air Force 1s? Answers were given a month later when Yachty took to his Instagram to showcase the friends and family pair of Concrete Boys AF1s.
Across the upper, Yachty's AF1 comes in all-leather and is primarily seen in white. Navy accents are spotted on the "It's Us" tag atop the tongue, the sockliner, and via the Concrete Boys logo embroidered onto the lateral heel. Packaging also comes co-branded with multiple Concrete Boys logos found alongside the phrase "It's Us" in the center.
While it was reported that the Lil Yachty x Nike US Force 1 Concrete Boys was to be a friends and family pair, his AF1 will release in the same White Midnight Navy colorway he previewed. An initial release will take place on November 20, 2024, through a Lil Yachty's website online and a global release via Nike and select retailers on December 3, 2024.
