Plenty of high fashion designers lend their experimental mind to The Swoosh, from Kim Jones to Matthew M Williams, and many more. Since her take on the Nike Air Monarch IV in 2019, Martine Rose and Nike have yet to release another collaboration, that is until now. Recently showcased during her eponymous brand’s Spring/Summer 2023 runway show is the upcoming Martine Rose x Nike Shox MR4, seen in three neutral colorways.
Molding the retro Nike silhouette with formal dress shoes and their pointy toe design, Martine Rose chooses to cover three colorways in “Black,” “White,” and “Metallic Silver.” All throughout the silhouette, layers of leather come streamlined to create an almost Oxford-like sneaker with classic Shox details remaining. On the toe, 3M reflective ovals sit below the tonal laces and tongue. Along the lateral midfoot, an accent colored Swoosh comes with contrasting piping around the familiar design, while the medial side comes blank. Underfoot, the iconic Shox column is present on the heel, coming in a tonal look on the white and silver pairs, while the black pair gets a red makeover. Rounding out the look is the tonal rubber outsole.
All three colorways of the Martine Rose x Nike Shox MR4 are set to release on July 7th through Martine Rose's website and on September 23rd through Nike SNKRS and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $200.
