Items connected to basketball legend Michael Jordan are some of the most sought-after pieces of sports memorabilia. Jordan's pre-NBA career playing for Team USA in the Pan-Am games is the setting of our story today. The earliest known Michael Jordan-worn sneaker is set to be auctioned off, offering fans and collectors a unique piece of basketball history.
This piece of treasure is none other than the classic Converse All-Star. MJ was often spotted wearing Converse sneakers before his signing with Nike, and this pair worn against Mexico and Canada has been photo matched to the 1983 Pan American Games. In this tournament, MJ earned his first gold medal and set the stage for his international career we would later see with the Dream Team in 1992
This pair of Michael Jordan-worn Converse All-Star is currently up for auction through Grey Flannel Auctions. The minimum bid was set at $10,000. As of this writing, the bid has reached $16,106. If you want to secure one of the earliest pieces of MJ memorabilia, check out the auction here and hurry as it ends on June 11.
