The 550 has got to be one of New Balance's most iconic basketball shoes. Introduced all the way back in the late '80s, the retro silhouette was recently brought back to life, and it's now more popular than ever thanks to Gen Z sneakerheads who absolutely adore the retro aesthetic. Now, the Boston-based brand has unveiled the New Balance 550 "White Gum," and it's literally as clean as it gets.
Arriving in a crisp white color scheme, the upper of this 550 works on top of a smooth leather base with perforated panels for that old school look that we all know and love. The iconic "N" logo is inlaid on the lateral and medial sides, while buttery light grey suede wraps around the toe box and heel, where you'll find New Balance's vintage "NB" logo. Underfoot, the midsole has been left all-white for a pristine finish, and this is lined with a gum rubber outsole which adds a pop of color to the shoe.
The New Balance 550 White Gum is set to release on November 1st, 2022 in men's sizes for $120, these will be available via New Balance and select retailers worldwide.
