Taking a break from the 550 and 2002R hype that has been completely dominating the sneaker game over the past few months, New Balance is revisiting one of its more underrated silhouettes with the upcoming New Balance 996 "Beige." First introduced in 1988, the vintage model, that was specifically designed for everyday wear, has been equipped with some premium materials and new technology that makes it better than ever.
Outfitted in luxurious beige suede and nubuck throughout, mesh elements adorn the ankle, tongue, and toe box for optimum ventilation. Crisp white leather accents are featured on the back and "N" logo, which has been finely stitched on for a sartorial aesthetic. New Balance branding is debossed around the lateral heel with a gold foil finish for an even more high-end look and feel, and underfoot, you'll find a C-CAP midsole. Unlike the ENCAP technology that's normally used on other NB pairs, this EVA unit offers enhanced cushioning and flexibility with every step.
The New Balance 996 Beige is set to release in late 2022/early 2023 in men's sizing. A retail price has yet TBA, but these will be available at New Balance and select stockists online and in-store.
