As trends shift within sneakers, the industry reacts quickly. With the Nike Dunk popularity skyrocketing, brands brought back their low-top 80s basketball silhouettes. When the Yeezy 700 popularized chunky dad shoes, it seemed as if every brand from Balenciaga to Reebok released their take on the model. Now in 2022, EVA foam-based clog silhouettes have ruled supreme, thanks to the Foam RNNR and Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Clogs. Joining in on the craze is New Balance with their upcoming NB Clog.
Taking on a one-piece EVA foam construction, the silhouette strays from the lockdown seen on upcoming models such as the adiFOM Q or the Louis Vuitton Clog, instead it acts more like a mule. The molded upper features various perforated ventilation holes around the toe and forefoot, allowing for extra breathability and comfort. Along the lateral side, the classic N logo is present in the monochromatic look of each colorway. More NB branding is seen on the textured footbed as well as on the heel with “New Balance” text. Underfoot, the foam outsole features a heavy traction pattern for a stable ride.
The New Balance NB Clog is set to release in Korea on July 1st through New Balance and select retailers, though a worldwide drop is set for later in 2022. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at approximately $70 USD. To stay updated on the latest from NB and more, keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app.
