It’s no secret that 2022 marks 40 years since the legendary Air Force 1 made its debut. Designed by Bruce Kilgore, the basketball shoe was introduced all the way back in 1982. With that said, it was actually discontinued for a period of two years in 1984, before being brought back in 1986, and the rest is history. To celebrate four decades since the release of the icon, the Beaverton-based footwear company has been unleashing a bevy of special edition colorways over the past few months, but the Nike Air Force 1 Low 40th Anniversary "Yellow Ochre" is sure to be a standout pair.
The first thing that you’ll notice about this shoe is the vibrant “Yellow Ochre” hue that takes over the entire pebbled leather construction. Complementary laces tie everything together, while clean white tones hit the Swoosh and midsole. Metallic Gold makes its way to the top eyelets and lace dubrae, while striking team orange accents add a further pop of contrast throughout. “82-22” is proudly printed on the right insole as a nod to the year the Air Force 1 made its grand debut, its time here, forty years later. Of course, you can’t talk about this colorway without mentioning the number “40” stamped on the lateral heel which is a homage to how many years the model has been around. This is surrounded with a quarter of stars all for good measure.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low 40th Anniversary Yellow Ochre W is set to release in Holiday 2022. It will drop at Nike, via the SNKRS app, and at select retailers worldwide, both online and in-store.
