As Nike prepares to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Air Max 95 in 2025, the iconic silhouette continues to be a staple in the brand's release calendar. Known for its groundbreaking design inspired by human anatomy, the Air Max 95 has remained a fan favorite for decades. Following the homage to Atlanta in April, Nike is turning its attention north to honor another iconic city on the silhouette—Toronto, affectionately known as The Six.
The Nike Air Max 95 Toronto features a striking combination of materials and colors that capture the city's essence. The upper showcases a mix of black tumbled leather on the toecap, complemented by the classic anatomy-inspired overlays. These overlays start in a stark white hue near the top, transition to grey in the center, and finish with a gradient effect at the bottom. This fade effect shifts from a reddish hue near the toe to a blue hue near the heel—possibly representing local sports teams from the area.
White mesh netting around the eyestays adds a breathable touch. At the same time, the removable Air Max tag on the tongue offers a personalized detail with East End on the right pair and West End on the left pair, nodding to the city's distinct neighborhoods. Inside, the insole features a graphic with Valid for Toronto, further solidifying the sneaker's connection to the city. The design is completed with a black Air Max 95 midsole featuring red Air units and a black, blue, and red outsole for a bold finish.
The Nike Air Max 95 Toronto will release on August 31, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $185.
