The Air Max lineup has been going strong for Nike for over 35 years now and 2023 is set to be a major year. Alongside the return of the “Big Bubble” version of the AM 1 (the Nike Air Max 1 ‘86), The Swoosh is continuing its innovation with another new Air Max model that follows the avant-garde-like Air Max Scorpion. Taking some elements from previous Air Max models, the Nike Air Max Pulse in its launch colorway, “Phantom,” will arrive to celebrate Air Max Day.
Taking on a split mesh and leather upper, the bottom portion of the model features a large leather overlay that wraps from the toe back to the heel while above this sits a mesh material. Lacing for the model stays simple and is reminiscent of previous Air Max sneakers while a new Air Max-branded logo appears on the tongue and back on the TPU heel counter. More Swoosh branding is present near the midfoot with a larger silver Swoosh featured on the mesh portion and a mini logo in red placed just below on the leather panel. Underfoot sits a white foam midsole with the heel getting a mesh portion and an Air Max 270 bubble. Rounding out the design is the white and semi-translucent clear rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max Pulse Phantom is set to release on March 26th, 2023 (Air Max Day) through Nike SNKRS and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
