Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks have secured a spot in the NBA Playoffs as they look to knock the Pacers out in the first round. On the feet of Giannis will likely be the Zoom Freak 5, his latest signature sneaker with Nike. However, after reports of Giannis' sixth signature sneaker undergoing a rename with the Giannis Freak 6, images of one of the first colorways have emerged.
The Giannis Freak 6 Roses carry forward the technical prowess of its predecessors, featuring a semi-transparent mesh base paired with sturdy leather overlays that provide structural support and durability. This model introduces a new aesthetic twist with the Nike Swoosh extending beyond the shoe's silhouette, partially dipping below the upper—a bold design choice that echoes elements seen in other Nike signature lines. The rose graphics, intricately embroidered across the midfoot and tongue, add a layer of personal significance to the design. At the same time, the insole features a logo stating I Am My Father’s Legacy. Each shoe bears the names of Giannis' loved ones—his mother Veronica, his late father Charles, his girlfriend Mariah, his sons Liam and Maverick, and his brother Francis—integrated into the design on the heel of the outsole, making each step a tribute.
The Nike Giannis Freak 6 Roses will release on August 16, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s and gradeschool sizing, retail is set at $150 and $115, respectively.
