The trend of mesh runners and techy designs has remained strong throughout 2024, with Nike playing into this trend via its Zoom Vomero 5 silhouette. We’ve had no shortage of options on the model, and it was recently introduced in kids sizing for the first, expanding its reach to a whole new audience. In an update timed with the changing seasons, Nike is introducing the Vomero 5 Roam, a weatherized outdoor variant. A Black Racer Blue colorway has emerged after looking at the Flax, Black Light Silver, Sail, and Racer Blue White renditions.
Unlike other options on this sneaker, this pair opts for a primarily black finish, adding shade to almost every asset on the model. On the base, we see a water-repellent textile, while more protection from the elements comes from the molded rubber mudguard that lines the bottom half of the upper. Suede details appear on the toebox overlays and vamp, leading toward the leather midfoot panel and speed lacing system. Vomero branding atop the tongue takes on a contrasting racer blue finish, extending into the insole. Internally, the sockliner gets increased cushioning compared to the original Vomero 5. Pair this with the Cushlon 3.0 foam and dual Zoom Air bags in the heel and forefoot, and you get one of the most comfortable models on the market. Below this is a redesigned rubber outsole in black and racer blue.
The Nike Zoom Vomero Roam Black Racer Blue W will release on November 1, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is $180.
