Beginning in 2021, the collaboration between Salehe Bembury and Crocs quickly became one of the most talked-about partnerships in the footwear industry. Bembury, known for his previous work with Versace and Yeezy, has infused Crocs with a fresh, innovative aesthetic, leading the brand’s Pollex Pod Collection. Following the Pollex Clogs' success and the Pollex Slide's introduction, the collaboration is set to expand further with the upcoming release of the Pollex Juniper in an eye-catching Taro colorway. This pair follows up on the previously teased Guava rendition.
The Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Juniper Taro is a testament to the designer's ability to blend form with function unexpectedly. The sneaker, fearing a slight resemblance to the Yeezy 350’s shape, features a blend of blue rubberized panels, neoprene, and mesh throughout the upper, all adorned with a unique textured finish that adds depth and character to the design. Perforations strategically placed on the toe and heel ensure breathability, making this sneaker as comfortable as it is stylish. Branding is subtly integrated via an included hang tag, showcasing both Crocs and Salehe Bembury logos, while the name Juniper is elegantly displayed on the tongue. The design is further enhanced with purple accents on the tongue and collar, a striking rubber reinforcement in pink on the midfoot, and the standout orange rubber sole unit featuring Bembury's signature 3D fingerprint pattern, which cleverly extends to parts of the upper.
The Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Juniper Taro will release November 14, 2024, through Salehe Bembury's Be a Spunge website. A wider release via Crocs and select retailers will come at a later date. Available in unisex sizing, the retial price is set at $140. Keep it locked to the Sole Retriever mobile app for the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
