Korean-based fashion label Song For The Mute (often stylized as SFTM) has partnered up with adidas on multiple footwear projects since 2023, working on models like the Country OG, Campus 80s, Shadowturf, and recently teasing us with the brand’s Superstar collab for 2025. Now, official images have emerged of what SFTM and adidas have in store for us in September as they’ll launch a trio of adidas Adistar Cushion colorways.
Featuring Core Black Dark Brown, Shadow Green, and Taupe Metallic pairs, SFTM does what the brand has consistently done with adidas collabs by reworking the construction and material makeup of the silhouette. Multiple mesh weaves are used on the upper, with a more wide-spaced mesh visible on the toe, while the midfoot panel comes in a tighter weave. Velvet-like satin material is on the Three Stripes on the lateral side, with the medial featuring a standard nylon build. Fuzzy felt suede is utilized for overlays near the heel, while synthetic textured leather moves across the profile in a contrasting hue amongst each pair.
SFTM branding is featured on an added tag on the lateral Three Stripes, reading SFTM-004, marking the fourth project between the duo and along the co-branded tongue tag. Final branding details include the split branding on the insole and the added Song For The Mute text on the inside of the tongue tag. Finishing the design is the adiPRENE+ cushioning system paired with a grippy rubber outsole, both in tonal hues that match the color palette of each pair in the collection.
The SFTM x adidas Adistar Cushion Collection will release on September 19, 2024, via Song For The Mute, adidas, and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price has yet to be revealed.
