The Stone Island x New Balance 991v2 Made in UK Ghost Pack Releases September 2024

New Balance has been on a roll with its Made in UK series, continuously pushing the boundaries of sneaker design and craftsmanship. Last year, the brand introduced the 991v2, a modern update to the classic 991 silhouette, and one that has quickly garnered attention for its sleek design and premium construction. Helping to usher in this new chapter was a collaboration with Stone Island, the Italian label known for its innovative approach to materials and technical outerwear. This partnership, which began in 2021, has consistently delivered standout releases, the most recent being the Stone Island x New Balance 574 Legacy that dropped in June. Now, the two powerhouses are set to continue their collaborative streak, teasing an upcoming project on the 991v2.
The images show the model sporting what appears to be a never-before-seen colorway of the 991v2. Alongside the pair on foot, there are two more colorways, each featuring the meticulous attention to detail and material innovation that Stone Island is known for. Images of the Sand colorway appeared shortly after this teaser was posted, showing premium suede and mesh construction alongside leather details. Tonal hues cover each of the panels as well as the mesh base, while the tongue features a velcro Stone Island patch. Underfoot sits a tonal foam midsole with FuelCell cushioning paired with a rubber outsole.
Alongside this Sand pair, there is a Green and Black rendition, both sticking to the tonal makeover featuring the titular shade across most of the paneling. Tonal midsoles and outsoles complete the look. Inspiration for the colorways comes from Stone Island's Ghost collection, which sees tonal monochromatic color palettes.
The Stone Island x New Balance 991v2 Made in UK Ghost Pack will release September 26, 2024, through Stone Island. A wider release via New Balance, and possibly through select retailers, isn't confirmed but may take place in the coming weeks. Like all previous 991v2s, the pairs should retail for $250.
