Stussy’s partnership with Nike dates back over two decades and has covered some of the most iconic sneakers. Most recently, the duo crafted a three-pack of Nike Vandal High colorways. Stussy and Nike will continue their work on retro silhouettes and collaborate on the Nike Air Flight 89 Low.
The Nike Air Flight 89, celebrating its 35th Anniversary in 2024, is revered among sneaker enthusiasts sharing the same sole unit with the iconic Air Jordan 4. A release window just before 2024 signals Nike's intent to use Stussy to help jumpstart more interest in the silhouette.
Stussy’s take on the Nike Air Flight 89 Low reimagines the retro silhouette in three colorways: Black White, White Pecan, and White Habanero Red. Each pair showcases snakeskin detailing with this applied in tonal colors across all three. Stussy adds its monogram "SS" logo onto the snakeskin overlay near the toes and places its graffiti logo atop the tongue below the Air branding. Construction across the rest of the model features leather with perforations on the toebox and portions of the midfoot. Underfoot sits an AJ4 midsole paired with a recycled rubber outsole.
For the White Habanero Red pair, red hits find a home on the Swoosh, sockliner, Nike Air Branding, TPU eyelet, and piping the leather heel panel and snakeskin overlay. The exact placement is found on the White Pacan pair, just in brown. For the Black White colorway, white accents the laces, branding throughout, and the midsole.
The Stussy x Nike Air Flight 89 Low SP Pack will release this holiday season, with the White Pecan pair kicking things off on December 13, 2023. The entire collection will be available through Stussy, Nike, SNKRS, and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
