adidas basketball is in the driver's seat again. This time, it's the adidas D.O.N. Issue #5, the latest signature sneaker for Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers. D.O.N. is the first three letters in Donovan Mitchell's name, but it also stands for Determination Over Negativity, a cool acronym to live by. Following the unveiling of the Black White colorway, the Bright Cyan edition is next up.
The adidas D.O.N. Issue #5 Bright Cyan comes in bright cyan, core black, and blue rush. Starting from the bottom, the sole features black round pods on both the forefoot and the heel. Those act as pivot points on the shoe for easy rotation while making turns on the court. At the mid-foot, you'll see Donovan Mitchell's signature on the Torsion System plate underfoot, which keeps the ride stable for all four quarters.
Moving up your base layer is a black mesh and covering that you see synthetic leather in bright cyan on the front toe box. That same cyan fades in the heel to a darker blue rush color that wraps around the back. You have orange accents via the toe box stitching, the top two eyelets, and the midfoot under the slanted adidas Three Stripes logo. The oval-shaped mesh on the lateral side doubles as ventilation for when your foot gets hot on the court.
The adidas D.O.N. Issue #5 Bright Cyan will release October 24, 2023, through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex, gradeschool, and preschool sizing, the retail price is set at $120, $100, and $90, respectively.
