The Kids' Exclusive Toy Story x adidas Collection Releases April 2025
Next year will herald the 30th Anniversary of the release of Disney and Pixar's smash hit Toy Story. adidas is launching a collection of children's footwear, including the Samba OG, Gazelle, Superstar, Gazelle 360, and Superstar 360, to celebrate the milestone. Each pair represents characters from the beloved franchise and is designed specifically for the next generation of little humans. Toy Story was the first ever entirely computer-animated feature film and the first feature film from Pixar.
Since its release in 1995, Toy Story has become a multimedia behemoth, with several feature films, numerous spin-offs and short movies, musicals, and one of Disney's biggest merchandising ranges. Nominated for three Oscars, including the iconic Randy Newman song, "You've Got A Friend In Me," the movie was a massive breakthrough in film. Appealing to all ages, the voice acting of Tom Hanks and Tim Allen brought Woody and Buzz Lightyear to life, and the story of jealousy put aside to bond through strength resonated around the globe.
First up in the Toy Story x adidas Collection is the Samba OG, arriving with an unmistakable aesthetic, Woody's. Preloved Brown leather makes up the base of the upper and is contrasted by preloved blue denim Three Stripes along the midfoot. The front of the sneaker features a nubuck T-style toe box, and the lace set is color-matched.
At the rear, the heel tab is faux pony hair in a cow pattern, joining the plaid inner lining that represents Woody's shirt and waistcoat. The tongues feature dual branding, including a custom Woody graphic, while the Samba moniker is denoted in gold foil running parallel to the stripes on the sides. Even Woody's belt buckle is included in the design, with a set of lace dubraes. Underfoot, a light gum-colored sole is applied for extra grip.
Though not introduced to fans until the second film, Jessie is celebrated with a vibrant adidas Gazelle. Orange hues envelop the suede upper, which features cow-patterned Three Stripes along the midfoot and a golden yellow back heel tab. Again, dual-branded tongue graphics and another set of custom lace dubraes are applied from Jessie's ensemble in the films.
A rope lace set is utilized, matching the color of the upper. Swirly red stitching contrasts along the tongue and heel tab, while a gum-colored sole provides a cushioned fit underfoot. Each pair's insoles also feature co-branding.
One of the most beloved sets of characters, the Aliens in the vending machine worshipping the claw, are represented on the adidas Superstar, featuring velcro fastenings. Each of the three velcro straps has an alien eye on the end, while the plush white leather upper has Three Stripes branding along the sides, and the back heel tab comes in core black. The back heel tabs also feature co-branding, and an Alien graphic waves hello on the lateral heels.
Featuring an Adifom sole underfoot, the adidas Gazelle 360 Rex is adorned in a dinosaur pattern and the signature character's green hue. An eye is visible at the midfoot on the medial and lateral, with dual branding on the heel tabs. Teeth make a playful appearance along the toe area.
Finishing off the collection is a Superstar 360 that features a variety of characters from the franchise across the off-white upper, drawn playfully. Disney logos and characters' names join them in a colorful mix that brings the sneaker to life. Custom dual-branding is seen on the tongues and heels, with a super comfy Adifom sole underfoot.
The Toy Story x adidas Collection featuring the Samba OG Woody GS, Gazelle Jessie GS, Superstar 360 PS, Superstar Alien PS, and Gazelle 360 Rex PS are set to release in April 2025 via adidas and select retailers online and in-store.
