9th Wonder is a producer known for his personal mixtape remixing Nas’ God’s Son album and producing for the group Little Brother, formed by Big Pooh and Phonte. In addition to working with some of the biggest names in rap, Nike tapped the producer for an instrumental used in a short film titled Be Bold Be True back in 2013. Now in 2022, 9th Wonder remixes the Nike KD 15, producing a bold new take on the performance basketball sneaker.
A two-toned upper is patterned with darker grey topography swirls against a light grey mesh. The mismatched pair features a glowing green stability cage on the lateral side of the left shoe, while the right shoe features an orange cage. Both shoes have a grey plastic cage with green Swoosh branding on the medial sides. The mismatching doesn’t stop there, as the grey leather tongues feature different colored stitching for the co-branding, with 9th Wonder on the right and KD on the left. In addition, the heel pull tabs feature different colored threads for the “EA$Y” moniker stitched into them. All this atop a blue midsole with iridescent paint used on the Air Zoom Strobel branding in the midsole and a glow-in-the-dark outsole.
The 9th Wonder x Nike KD 15 is set to release on August 26th, 2022. It will drop on Nike and at select Nike Basketball retailers for a retail price of $160 in men's sizes.
