Trends within the sneaker industry tend to shift throughout the years, from the days of Ultraboosts and NMDs instantly selling out to the Air Jordan Retro craze after The Last Dance premiered. Thanks in part to Yeezy and their Foam RNNR and Salehe Bembury and his Crocs Pollex Clog collaboratiuon we have seen almost every brand under the sun create their version of a foam clog. With the help of A-COLD-WALL, Converse is set to bring their version of a clog with the Sponge Crater.
Utilizing Converse’s Crater Foam technology, this two-piece construction comes with a knit internal bootie with the aforementioned Crater Foam acting as an exoskeleton and cushioning system. The internal knit bootie allows for flexibility and breathability when worn and comes in a mixture of tangerine orange with hits of grey found on the collar, and heel and sprinkled around the midfoot. On the front and back two pull tabs are present, enhancing the ease of entry and exit. On the exoskeleton, a sculpted grey Crater Foam wraps around the internals sans the midfoot, collar, and one ventilation hole on the toe. A-COLD-WALL appears on the lateral side with a red “ACW” logo near the toe and on the insole with co-branding between both brands. Rounding out the look is the egg crate-style traction pod Crater Foam outsole.
The A-COLD-WALL x Converse Sponge Crater Dark Grey is set to release on June 23rd, 2022 through Converse, A-COLD-WALL, and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $110.
