The partnership between Nike and A Ma Maniere, one of The Whitaker Group's flagship stores led by James Whitner, continues to capture the attention of the sneaker community. Despite the swirling controversy around Whitner, Nike's partnership with his brand remains unshaken. This relationship has borne fruit once more, as evidenced by an unseen A Ma Maniere x Nike Air Max 95. Prior to this, Whitner was seen in the yet-to-be-released A Ma Maniere x Air Jordan 4.
First images of the sneaker turned out to be a sample colorway, as the retail pair was revealed at a later date. This retail variant comes as part of A Ma Maniere's While You Were Sleeping collection, encompassing multiple collaborations with Nike Inc. Unlike the original sample, the retail version comes primarily covered in leather, with the Air Max 95s gradient side panel design remaining. Here, we see various cream, brown, and violet hues with extra stitching details, adding an elevated look to the model. A Ma Maniere's A logo is attached to the medial collar, with the brand's name placed on the lateral mudguard. Down below, the model is finished with a tonal foam midsole containing visible Air bubbles throughout, paired with a tonal outsole.
The A Ma Maniere x Nike Air Max 95 While You Were Sleeping will release October 25, 2024, at 11 AM ET through A Ma Maniere's website, and in-store at A Ma Maniere, Social Status, and APB locations. An in-store raffle will take place on October 24 at Social Status Tampa, Social Status Houston, Social Status Atlanta, and A Ma Maniere Houston.
