adidas may be in hot water with their biggest collaborator Ye, but it seems the German sportswear brand is still going forward with the semi-controversial adiFOM Q even after high-profile celebrities like Diddy and Swizz Beats called out the model. The silhouette will be taking a trip to space in the near future alongside the adidas Supernova Cushion 7 as the adidas Cosmic Way Runners Pack has been revealed by Complex.
Coming inspired by human space exploration, the pack brings these two silhouettes to Mars and Neptune with one colorway for each silhouette representing the two planets. For the adiFOM Q Mars, faded brownish oranges cover the foam exoskeleton with the internal Primeknit bootie coming in a tonal shade to compliment its secondary piece. The laces and neoprene tongue also borrow this hue as does the Trefoil logo stamped atop the tongue while adiPLUS and another Trefoil logo come debossed on the heel. Underfoot, the aforementioned adiPLUS technology is attached to the internal booty, providing a maximum level of comfort when on foot.
Joining in on the Mars party, the Supernova Cushion 7 gets covered in a mixture of canvas and leather across its overlays while the base layer comes in an aged transparent TPU material. Purplish hues trim most of the panels while marbled and worn effects are seen all throughout. Deep blacks accent these earth tones on the collar and heel while the adiPRENE+ midsole comes in a Mars-like shade of brown. Rounding out the design is the black rubber outsole.
As for the Neptune pairs, the adiFOM Q continues the worn-down effect with bluish-blacks covering the exoskeleton and a deep navy blue taking over the Primeknit internal bootie. Laces and tongue match this hue, helping secure the adiPLUS cushioned Primeknit to the organically designed foam outer shell. Rounding out the look is a tonal outsole borrowing the same shade as the upper.
With the Supernova Cushion 7 Neptune, an all-over tonal blue covers the silhouette, coming in the same material makeup as the Mars colorway. Marbled blues and blacks land on the Three Stripes branding along the midfoot while this same effect is found on the base layer. Underfoot, the adiPRENE+ midsole continues this worn-down blue across its foam construction.
The adidas Cosmic Way Runners Pack is slated to release in the Spring/Summer of 2023 through adidas and select adidas retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the Supernova Cushion 7 will retail for $140 while the adiFOM Q is priced at $120.
