The trend of retroing older basketball models with updated tech has been a success across the board as fans get the best of both worlds, a classic look with the latest footwear technology. Like the Kobe line over at Nike, adidas has joined in on the trend with the Restomod series on Gilbert Arenas’ signature models, the latest of which was worn on the feet of the 6’4 former Wizard when he dropped 60 points against the Black Mamba in 2006. That is, the adidas Agent Gil Restomod “60 Points.”
Across the upper sits a mixture of different leathers alongside mesh on the forefoot strap, taking on a cloud white, pyrite, and core black color palette. On the toe, heel, and a portion of the aforementioned forefoot strap sits a faux snakeskin leather in a golden pyrite shade, accented by the stark white leathers seen throughout the rest of the sneaker. A set of white laces run up to the “Formotion” branded tongue tag. Black accents are present on the sockliner and insole, the latter of which gets BOOST branding written in white. Underfoot, the full-length Boost midsole is encapsulated within the white midsole while the tri-toned rubber outsole below features Formotion pods to elevate your grip when on the court.
The adidas Agent Gil Restomod 60 Points is set to release on September 11th, 2022 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
