In the annals of skateboarding history, few figures stand as tall as Mark Gonzales. Known fondly as "The Gonz," his creativity and relentless pursuit of innovation have left an indelible mark on the sport and culture. His longstanding partnership with adidas has given rise to a series of imaginative, skate-centric designs that honor his legacy and fuel the future of skateboarding footwear. The adidas Aloha Super, an interpretation of the archival fencing sneaker transformed for skating, continues this journey, now appearing in an all-new Core Black Carbon colorway.
The Aloha Super goes noir here with a sturdy black suede wrapping from the mudguard back to the heel, met by light black nubuck and leather above. Gonzales' whimsical Shmoofoil character proudly sits atop the tongue, while his signature is embroidered onto the heel in white. The Three Stripes on the midfoot get a refined touch with a white leather finish, contrasting against the overall dark theme. A semi-translucent midsole and outsole in white provide the finishing touches.
The adidas Aloha Super Core Black Carbon has already seen releases through select skate shops but will release June 15 through adidas’ website. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $100.
