As the sneaker industry continues to pump out retro models, adidas has capitalized on the ‘90s and early ‘00s basketball trend, reissuing models like the Crazy 1 in a fresh and modern palette. Now, Kobe Bryant’s former signature sneaker is coming to us in a clean “Ice Blue” colorway.
The upper of the Crazy 1 is shrouded in a bulky synthetic material, imbued with an icy blue hue throughout. The laces rendered in the same icy blue color match perfectly with this shade. Contrast on the tongue and heel comes in a deep black tone, while the toecap incorporates a hit of grey. Truly tying in the Audi TT Roadster design influence is the bold orange "taillight" feature on the heel. This orange hue is applied to the internal sockliner, popping amongst the black surrounding it. Branding details for adidas are present on the midfoot, with the Three Stripes logo embossed into the upper and on portions of the insole and outsole. Underfoot sits a silver EVA-cushioned midsole, engineered for comfort and performance, all set atop a durable black rubber outsole.
The adidas Crazy 1 Ice Blue will release August 26, 2023, through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
