The adidas Crazy 1 Lakers Away Releases On April 15th

Before the legendary Nike Kobe line of signature basketball sneakers, the Black Mamba was once an adidas athlete. These early days of Kobe’s career had the young legend-in-the-making rocking some of the most unconventional-looking sneakers on the NBA court, specifically with the adidas Crazy 1 model. When Kobe’s estate was still deciding whether to resign with Nike, adidas geared up and prepped plenty of retro colorways on his various models. The Crazy 1 has been a favorite for The Three Stripes since this decision. Coming off the reveal of a “Triple Black” colorway, a “Lakers Away” rendition has just appeared on the adidas Crazy 1.

Covered mainly in a black synthetic material across its upper, the Audi TT Roadster-inspired sneaker features hits of purple and gold on various details throughout. This synthetic material wraps around the profile, collar, and toebox while we see the toe guard come in a golden yellow rubber. Purple hits make their mark on the sockliner, the adidas logo atop the tongue, and via the loops on the eyestays. This latter portion is host to black laces that match the tongue’s dark color scheme. Rounding out the upper is the purple adidas-branded TPU panel on the heel with a “brake light” inspired design in gold. Rounding everything out is the black foam midsole with gold and purple hits seen on the midfoot and rubber outsole below.

The adidas Crazy 1 Lakers Away will be released online and in-store on April 15th, 2023, through adidas and select Three Stripes retailers. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
