To herald the upcoming change of seasons, this autumnal pair of adidas Gazelle Indoor appears just in time for the Fall. A longtime heritage silhouette of the brand, the shoe has seen a massive resurgence in recent years, with esteemed collaborators such as Gucci, Bad Bunny, and Kith all choosing to design and work with the low-cut silhouette. Celebrity fans of the shoe include Brad Pitt, who wore them on the red carpet for the premiere of one of his latest films, Bullet Train.
Not to be confused with the Gazelle OG that launched in 1968, the Gazelle Indoor first launched in the early 80s. This version came after several indoor sports shoes that adidas produced became hugely popular for streetwear in the late 70s. The adidas Gazelle Indoor in Maroon Almost Yellow, alongside two other colorways, are expected to launch alongside one another: Mineral Green Silver Dawn and Dark Blue Bliss Orange.
For the construction of the upper, a mixture of finished cuts of suede is used to give real depth to the textures. The alternating shades of maroon and preloved brown combine well in an aesthetic to suit the falling foliage that Mother Nature will soon bring about. The medial and lateral panels have a fluffy feel and look, while the toe area and eyestay have a creamy, smooth finish.
The heel and sockliner are finished in preloved brown leather. The Three Stripes branding on the sides is also leather, in an almost yellow hue alongside the laces. The gold tongue decal upon the dimpled tongue gives them a touch of luxury, while it all sits upon the classic gum sole unit that features a translucent midsole.
The adidas Gazelle Indoor Maroon Almost Yellow is set to release in October 2024 through adidas and select retailers in-store and online. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $120.
