Since being introduced at a showcase held at the 2024 NBA All-Star game in February, the adidas Mad IIInfinity has been steadily released throughout the year. The rise of adidas' profile in the basketball market has been stratospheric over the last 12 months. Spearheaded by a signature campaign with Anthony Edwards and a serious SOTY contender, the Anthony Edwards 1 (AE1), more eyes than ever are on the performance basketball shoes that adidas is launching in the future.
In the early 2000s, before Kobe Bryant had great success with Nike, he launched a shoe with adidas, the KOBE 1. Since renamed Crazy 1, this shoe has influenced an entire line of adidas models in recent years, the Crazy IIInfinity being one of them. Originally produced under the working name of Superteam 2000 S, its sleek yet bulky profile and modernistic aesthetic leave nobody in doubt of this shoe's design inspiration. Being worn by athletes and fashionistas alike due to their functionality and unique appearance respectively, another striking pair will soon arrive on shelves, Bred.
The upper of the adidas Mad IIInfinity Bred uses premium mesh, suede, and synthetic leather on the black-based upper. With most of the lacing system hidden, the pair gives off a minimalist approach. A contrasting stripe of red runs along the sides and throughout the midsole to lend some vibrancy to the look. Underfoot is an EVA-cushioned midsole giving complete comfort, encased in the innovative rubber outsole.
The adidas Mad IIInfinity Bred is set to release on October 1, 2024, through select retailers in-store and online, followed by a drop via adidas on November 9. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $180. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
