The crepe revolution at adidas continues with a three-shoe collection that transforms a classic silhouette. With autumnal hues throughout, the adidas Rivalry Crepe Pack is perfect for strolls through the fall foliage.
The success that The Brand With The Three Stripes has had with classic models receiving an overhaul with a crepe sole stems directly from the 8th Street Collection. Curated by Ronnie Fieg, which brought together adidas, Clark's Originals, and Fieg's own Kith, the incredible trifactor grabbed all the headlines in early 2023 with the release of the first 8th Street Samba. Even at the end of 2023, the sneakers made many SOTY lists, and the collection has continued to grow periodically with launches through the Kith loyalty program, including the Gazelle Indoor Molecule, AS350 Elevation, and BW Army Vitality.
Since that collection's first launch, adidas has also given the iconic Stan Smith the crepe treatment, which has had great reception seen on a plethora of tonal colorways. The major change, other than the soles, was the switch-up of material from leather to suede, while the main design remains intact.
For this adidas Rivalry Crepe Pack, considerable changes in the design are immediately apparent. All three pairs arrive with plush suede uppers, but the first eye-catching change is the lace stay. Devoid of any eyelets but one, a hidden lace system provides a smooth aesthetic. The soft look and changes continue around the toe box, with the stitch 'n' turn technique used to give a stitchless appearance, also emphasized by the lack of the usual perforations. Arriving in shades of Preloved Fig, Mesa, and Legend Ivy, each pair is contrasted by ivory-colored accents. The iconic Trefoil logo is on the tongue and underfoot; each pair is finished with gum-colored crepe soles.
The adidas Rivalry Crepe Pack is set to release on October 3, 2024, through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $150.
