adidas is bringing traditional Korean dance to the forefront with its latest Samba OG releases. The Samba, a silhouette deeply rooted in adidas' history, is reimagined to celebrate the Talchum, a Korean mask dance often performed during local festivals.
The Talchum Pack features two distinct colorways of the Samba: Better Scarlet and Preloved Brown. Each pair showcases a luxurious suede upper, adding a plush, hairy suede texture adorning the heel, Three Stripes, and a T-shaped toebox overlay. The design pays homage to the intricate masks used in Talchum, with an exquisitely embroidered mask motif on the lateral heel of each sneaker. Attention to detail extends to the interior, where the sockliner and tongue lining is crafted from premium leather, elevating the overall aesthetic and feel of the shoe. Underfoot sits a gum rubber sole unit, a staple in the Samba silhouette, which completes the design.
The adidas Samba OG Talchum Pack will release on December 22, 2023, via adidas in Asia. Priced at approximately $179 SGD ($135 USD) and available in men's sizing, this pack represents a unique fusion of cultural heritage and contemporary style.
