Thanks to the retro sneaker trend that's all the rage these days, hype surrounding old school silhouettes is currently at an all-time high. With a JJJJound x adidas Samba collaboration on the horizon, Yohji Yamamoto has now taken the wraps off his rendition of the Gazelle with the aptly-named adidas Y-3 Gazelle Pack. Revealed on the partnership's 20th anniversary, if you're a fan of his previous work then you're going to adore this collection.
Dating back to the early '60s, the Gazelle has been a Three Stripes staple long before many of you were even born. For his version, Yamamoto has revealed two colorways including the "Off-White" and "Black." Both pairs switch out the usual all-leather construction in favor of a buttery suede outfit, and loose stitching throughout showcases the godfather of Japanese fashion's world-renowned avant-garde aesthetic. Abstract Three Stripe branding adorns the lateral and medial panels alongside the designer's name in silver foil, and to round it all off, a dash of leather features around the heel complete with debossed Y-3 branding.
The adidas Y-3 Gazelle Pack is set to release in January 2023 in men's sizes at adidas, Y-3, and select retailers globally. Expect a premium retail price of $270.
