This November, Adsum and adidas join forces to bring sneakerheads a fresh take on a classic: the adidas Samba Millennium. The Samba has exploded in popularity in recent years and is now getting a transformative touch from Adsum, a brand that featured the silhouette in its early lookbooks. This collaboration signifies a nostalgic nod to Adsum's roots. It marks a significant moment in sneaker culture, as this is the first time in years that the Samba Millennium silhouette is reintroduced.
Coming in what Adsum is dubbing Nutmeg Beige, the color scheme and sneaker are a tribute to the timeless black and white versions of the Samba. This unique hue, named after the clever soccer maneuver, adds a contemporary twist to the classic design. The sneaker's upper is crafted in smooth leather, reminiscent of traditional soccer footwear. At the same time, the incorporation of medium and low nap suedes in varying colors lends a softer, more nuanced look.
The iconic Three Stripes are presented in black nubuck, ensuring the sneaker's identity is recognizable from a distance. Adsum's influence is subtly present in the gold foil branding, a nod to the brand's minimalistic yet impactful design ethos. A vibrant pop of red, inspired by the iconic adidas Predator boot, adorns the tongue embroidery, torsion system plate, and peeks out from beneath the natural-colored gum sole. This color choice creates a visual link to adidas' rich soccer heritage, celebrated by stars past and present.
