One of the most steady partnerships in footwear over the last half-decade has been Aime Leon Dore and New Balance. Both have benefitted from teaming up on dozens of releases, elevating Aime Leon Dore to household name status in the footwear world and attracting new eyes to New Balance via limited collaboration. Coming off the duo’s recent project on the 475 silhouette, Aime Leon Dore is returning its homage to the SONNY Youth Club and the Masaryk Community Gym in NYC with apparel and sneakers.
Utilizing the Hesi Low v2, which debuted over the summer, Aime Leon Dore applies a clean and sophisticated color palette that aligns with the apparel in the collection. One pair takes on a cream and white finish with green accents on select portions, while the other pair comes in a neutral Black finish with yellow and green pops. On the White pair, we see white hues used across most of the sneaker, with the N logo on the medial side, piping of the N logo on the lateral, and the Hesi branding all coming in green. More green hits appear on the collar and sockliner. For the Black pair, the same color blocking is applied with the titular shade on almost all the sneaker. Yellow appears instead of green on the branding details and pipes the black laces. However, this color also features green details along the tongue tag, sockliner, and collar. Finishing the design for both pairs is a tonal midsole and outsole.
