Aime Leon Dore Just Teased New Balance’s Latest Silhouette
Published
Beginning as collaborative partners under his Aime Leon Dore brand, the Teddy Santis x New Balance relationship grows stronger each year. Outside of helming the brand’s Made in USA collection, Santis still brings an elevated finish to New Balance products through ALD. While those who pre-ordered the brand’s Porsche-inspired New Balance 993 collaboration are still waiting for the pair to ship in September, Aime Leon Dore dropped a visual teaser for its upcoming Spring/Summer 2025 collection that teases brand-new New Balance silhouettes.
ALD’s old-money aesthetic mixed with Santis’ Greek heritage and love for basketball is thoughtfully displayed throughout the trailer, showcasing a journey from NYC to Greece. In between shots inside the ALD storefront in New York, the Sonny Basketball court ALD sponsors, and finally, a trip to Greece, we see some behind-the-scenes of the design process for the brand. Here, we see a confirmation of an upcoming collaboration with The North Face, inline footwear and apparel offerings, and, the star of the show, two unseen New Balance sneakers.

The first silhouette draws some influence from the New Balance 1000, a model that Santis had a hand in reviving last year through his job at NB and a collab release with ALD. A vintage, retro tech-runner design language is present. While we did mention the 1000, it also seems to take inspiration from the relatively unknown RX505 silhouette, a spiked trail hiking silhouette from NB’s archives. This is evident in the paneling of the midfoot, which features two leather strips that run back and meet back on the heel tab.

Multiple different colorways are spotted in the film, including a clean White Sea Salt that uses a primarily leather build. At the same time, other more vibrant hi-vis renditions opt for a mixture of mesh and leather. ALD’s logo is on the heel, likely featuring some NB branding for inline variants. As for cushioning and tech specs, it’s not entirely clear what the foam or cushioning set-up is like, but we do see a molded foam with a TPU shank for stability in the midfoot.
A second model is found here, featuring a low-cut, laceless, and tongue-less construction. The neoprene upper is reinforced with TPU film around the toe and midfoot, while a bungee cord is integrated into the collar to allow for lockdown around the ankle. A co-branded insole and a Vibram rubber outsole complete the look.
These two unnamed New Balance silhouettes will likely debut in 2025 with this Aime Leon Dore collaboration, followed by inline releases.
